Kidnapping and Ransom (Human Trafficking)

This issue interests me because.....

There is a lot of Kidnapping going on all around the world right now and I am surprised how many people in the United States get kidnapped, we have to know why they are doing it!

I want people to learn this because.....

It is really interesting for them to know how many people are getting kidnapped each year in the United States. If I make a game about Kidnapping and Ransom it would express a lot of facts about it a lot better!

This issue needs to be addressed because.....

They're might people staying at places where a lot of kidnappings are happining and they're not even going to know about it, we have to do something about that!

March Of The Penguins

What challenges do the penguins have to overcome?
Survive from predators and the dad penguins to take care of their egg.
How does their habitat challenge their livelihood each day? The ice caps are melting and there are a lot of predators.
What types of adaptations do penguins need in order to survive brutal winters as well as predators? They need to be fast from predators and have blubber for the winter. 
Why is there a period of time in which there is practically no sunlight? What affect can no sunlight have on this region of Antarctica? Antarctica is on the other side of the world therefore the sun doesn't really give it sunlight but Global Warming is still affecting the penguins. 
How could climate change negatively impact the mating ritual of the Emperor Penguin? I would say that they have a routine so if the climate changes so would their routine?

Playing To Learn: Car, Sports racing

Cars, Football, Soccer, Basketball and people racing are example of things that might race. These games try to mimic the real world life. 


1. The Game that taught me a new skill or subject: The game "Basketballs" taught me a little bit about math.
2. The Game that taught me information about a new or existing social issue:"Atv Destroyer" taught me that there are some places that have a lot of litter

In "Atv Destroyer" you control a bike and you have to destroy some old cars that are in the middle of no where to get some points.

Playing to learn: Strategy

Strategy games need a lot of critical thinking skills and careful decision's. Strategy games could take a while to just complete one level.

"Bloxors" taught me more critical thinking skills.
2. The Game that taught me information about a new or existing social issue:I played a game that teaches people about some animals that are going extincted, but I don't remember what it was called?

"Bloxors" and "basketball"

In "Bloxors" you have to put a rectangle in a cube hole.
5. How you play the game or games:
You play "Bloxors" by trying to control a rectangle into a cube shaped hole with the arrow keys.

Playing To Learn: Puzzle and Mazes

Puzzle and Maze means consentrate on hard puzzles, well that's what I think. Sometimes you need critical thinking skills on some puzzle games. Some of them are just to hard, but they're a cool challenge.

2. The Game that taught me information about a new or existing social issue: I don't really know if any games I played taught me information about a social issue?
3. The game or games I liked the best: The two games liked the best were 'TILT" and "Wake Up The Box 2". 
4. What happens in the game or games: In "TILT" you have two get a little ball into a little hole by tilting a board. On "Wake Up The Box 2" you have to wake up the box by making him fall on whatever he's on.
5. How you play the game or games: You play "TILT" by  tilting a board with a ball on it and trying to make it into a little black hole.

A adventure game consists of a central theme or story that makes it a good adventure. I think adventure means different levels every time you pass a level. Other ways I could describe adventure is surprise and amazement. There's more ways that I could describe the word adventure!

In "Super Chick Sisters" some Ronald McDonald (bad one) kidnappes the princes and two little chicks save her.

1. How old were you on September 11, 2001?\
I think I was four years old when that happened? But I'm pretty sure I was four.

2. When did you first learn about the attacks and who explained the events to you? I first learned about the 9/11 attack when I was four years old. My mom told me and it was also on the news.

3. What kind of impact did these attacks have on your life or your parents lives? I dont really think that it impact my or my parents lifes,besides my parents and I feeling bad and sad for all the people who lost someone in that attack and for all the other people who died.

1. What was the issue with this game?

It showed the/United States in a bad way because it was showing the U.S as helpless and unable to do anything

2. How do you feel about it? I feel like it represents the U.S weak and that they could not control the people and the Twin Towers.

3. What is the problem with portraying on such an awful violent event through a video game? It showed the United States in a negative way.

4. How can you make sure that your web games tell the whole story or teach a lesson in an honorable way? My game will probably honor all the people who lost and risked their lifes.

"Danger of a Single Story"

I think it means an impression on a person place or thing.

2.Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community?

A single story about East Austin is that we have poor education and that our economy is very bad.

3.Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community?

A single story I heard is about South Side, that they have better education and nicer houses. But in South Side it leads to bigger problems.

4.How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or a community?

Its telling people the stereo type about other people like for example if in the game it shows African Americans steeling from people or places that's a stereo type.

A Cyberbully is a person who keeps on bullying you,harassing you, or evan embarrass you through Internet or cell phones. My class and I have been watching a movie in Tech class called "Cyberbully". The movie "Cyberbuly" is about a girl who gets bullied on the internet because of a roomer a mystery person said on a website called "Clicksters". The girls name was Taylor,she was getting cyberbullied and then she got to the point that she wanted to kill herself. So it all started when Taylor got a new laptop and she made herself an account on "Clicksters"

1.What does the site teach? The site teaches a lot about our gonvernment and the law. It also teaches you what the presedent goes threw everyday. 2.How does it teach about civics? 3-DS

"Man!",Thats pretty cool that they made a new Nintendo DS that is way more hi tech then the old one. The new Nintendo DS is 3-D, I mean how cool is that!We watched a video that was about the guy who invented the new Nintendo 3-DS and he was on a talk show talking about the 3-DS. He was also playing some games that I thought were pretty cool becuase he was using the camera on the Nintendo 3-DS to play them. The game was using a card that was on the desk and 3-D shapes started to pop out of the card, but in the game screen. Whatever the background is on the camera, that is the image that will apear on the game. That is so cool!

Who I Would Put In My Game

"Wow!", Thats cool that you got to see Mike Tyson Mrs.Arcos Evans. Well the celeberty that I would put into my game is Cristiano Ronaldo, he is a famous soccer player that plays for Real Madrid, ooh ehs Portegues by the way. I would market my comercials by making them exiting, I would talk or do something intersting so the people around the world would buy my game. If I go on talk shows it would be cool, but like I said I would do something intersting so I can interest people to buy my game."Man", I want this game to be good so I could have a chance to meet my favorite professional soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo!

The Kids That Help Japan

Man, I thought its pretty sad that Japan is going threw a hard time right now because they just had a Earthquake that was 8.9. Kids at a school in massachusette were so nice enough to rase money and give it to Japan so people could rebuild their buisnesses, houses, and other stuff they might need the money for.

It would be really cool if my school was rasing money for Japan, I want to make a change too!

"Wow!!," The new PSP (NGP) is awsome! It is si cool because it is a lot more advanced and has a lot more things than the old PSP. I think the new PSP (NGP) is going to be a good gaming system because I juzz saw in the video that it has a lot of different ways to play games. The PSP (NGP) is motion senserd and it also has a panel on the back that you touch and controles the game as well. It also ha sto camera's, one on the front and one on the back.

The Math Games I Played

The two math games I played were called The Multiplication Game and Mathman 2. I liked both games because they are really teaching you to multiply and add big numbers fast, well that depends on the difficulty you put. The Multiplication Game is kinda like Bingo and its about strategy and think before you do your move. You have to make a straight line of 4 squares before your opponent does. The other game I played was called Mathman 2 and it was about addition. The point of the game was to be a super hero and destroy all of the alien ships by solving the addition problem on the ship and flying right threw the right number in the laser the ship is making. If you go threw the wrong number you will loose life points, you start the game with a 100 life points. I think these games are cool because it helps you to solve any mathematics problem fast.

The Games I Played

I played two cool games and they were called J.Lo Fur Bully On The Block and Super Chick Sisters. The Super Chick Sisters really had two games in it so I really played three in total. The first game I played was called J.Lo Fur Bully On The Block and it was about a woman who has people to kill animals to make cloths and make her self look pretty. The point of the game is that you have to stop the people that are helping her and make them get an education. The other thing that you got to do is help all of the animals that are in her path. Super Chick Sisters is a game that has two in one, so the games were about McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken. They made these games to tell people how McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken kill chickens cruelly.

He was going to California.

What is the problem that the little boy, Jimmy, has?
His twin sister died.

Jimmy likes to stack and build things. How does this relate to video games?
Because on the games it shows some objects that are stacked.

Playing video games seems to help Jimmy feel better. Why do you think this is?
I think because it takes his mind off of his twin sister.

What makes him such an awesome video game player?
When he stacks up stuff he gets better on playing video games because there are a lot of objects that are stacked up in the games.

What kinds of games do you see being played? Have you ever played any games like this before?
The games I have seen in that movie are Super Mario. And yes I have played Super Mario before.

I only saw one and it was called the Nintendo Game System.

What did you think about the Power Glove?
I thought the Power Glove was pretty weird because who would control the game all over their arm, the glove might be uncomfortable.

Crayon Physics Game

I thought the Crayon Physics game was pretty cool because its challenging and I like games that give me a challenge. Crayon Physics was a challenging game because there are some levals that you have to think before you move. You can make any shape in order for you to make the little red ball get to the goal point(the red flag). Well, those are some reasons why I think Crayon Physics is a cool game.

Google Science Fair

Man, thats pretty cool that Google is having a science fair for all kids 13-18 around the contry. I think this science fair could be a good thing for our future, like for example what if a lucky kid makes a experiment that could help our future. I dont know, this lucky kid may also become famouse. If I was in this Google Science Fair I would probably make an experiment on something to do with Global Warming.
